The IHSA stock team competes at different venues throughout Michigan. The show season runs from late September until April. We attend 4 shows, and if one qualifies, regionals. Points are accumulated at each show, and if one accumulates enough they are eligible to participate in regionals. The shows usually run on Saturdays with the possibility of a double-header show which would be on the Sunday as well. As a team we drive up on Friday afternoons and stay overnight to ensure that we are at the show grounds for an early start. The shows usually run all day with each of the six divisions competing twice throughout the day.
We are looking for all levels of riders ranging from beginner (walk/trot) to reining. If you are unsure of the level that is right for you, it can be determined at the first show. You do not need to have a horse to compete as the horses are supplied at the shows.
